Microsoft plans to build one of its largest AI datacenter campuses ever in Pecos, Texas. While the company highlights jobs, economic growth, and sustainability efforts, some residents may still have concerns about the project’s long-term impact.
Governments around the world are pushing sovereign AI initiatives to reduce dependence on foreign cloud providers and protect national data. There is just one awkward problem though. Nearly all of this supposedly independent AI infrastructure still runs on NVIDIA hardware and software.
