Gaming keyboards all sort of blur together after a while. Black plastic, RGB overload, weird gamer fonts, and marketing jargon that promises esports greatness. That is why the new CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact immediately caught my eye at COMPUTEX 2026. Not only does it introduce Ultra-Wideband wireless technology and true 8K polling, but frankly, folks, this thing is gorgeous too.
Seriously, CHERRY XTRFY nailed the design here.
The K63W Pro Compact features a sleek low-profile look with a compact 70 percent layout that keeps the function row while trimming unnecessary bulk. It looks modern without trying too hard, and unlike a lot of gaming keyboards these days, it does not resemble a spaceship dashboard designed by a teenager fueled by energy drinks.
Looks aside, the wireless technology is what really makes this keyboard stand out. Instead of relying on the same crowded narrow-band wireless methods used by most peripherals, the K63W Pro uses Ultra-Wideband, also known as UWB. The idea is fairly simple. By transmitting data across a much wider frequency spectrum in short bursts, the keyboard can reduce interference while improving timing precision and connection stability.
In other words, if your desk is drowning in wireless devices, this keyboard is designed to better handle that chaos.

CHERRY XTRFY says the K63W Pro supports a true 8000Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes. That means the keyboard reports to your computer up to eight times every millisecond. Will every gamer actually notice the difference? Probably not. But competitive players chasing every tiny advantage will undoubtedly appreciate it.
Battery life sounds promising too. The keyboard packs a hefty 6000mAh battery, and the company says the efficiency benefits of Ultra-Wideband help extend usage time even with high-performance wireless polling enabled. As always, real-world testing matters more than spec sheets, but on paper at least, this setup sounds impressive.
I am also glad to see CHERRY focusing on typing feel instead of just raw gaming specs. Low-profile keyboards often feel thin and lifeless to type on, but the company says the K63W Pro combines its MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches with a gasket-mounted design for softer keystrokes and deeper acoustics. That could make this board appealing not just for gaming, but for everyday work too.
And honestly, that matters. A lot of us spend more time typing articles, emails, Slack messages, or code than actually gaming.
The CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact will launch in the United States this August for $169.99. That price is definitely premium territory, but if the real-world wireless performance matches the promises, and the typing experience lives up to the hype, this could end up being one of the more interesting gaming keyboards of 2026.
