DREO TurboPoly Fan 765S gets Matter support and suddenly I want a smart fan even more

If you had asked me a few years ago whether I wanted a smart fan, I probably would have laughed. Today? I absolutely love the idea, especially when it supports Matter. A fan is one of those devices you might use every day (and night) in the summer, so being able to control it alongside the rest of your smart home just makes sense.

That is exactly what DREO is doing with the TurboPoly Fan 765S. The company has announced native Matter support for the fan, making it easier to integrate with a wide range of smart home platforms instead of locking users into a single ecosystem.

Matter is meant to make smart home devices from different brands play nicely together. For consumers, that means less frustration during setup and fewer compatibility headaches later on. That is the kind of progress the smart home industry needs.

With the update, the TurboPoly Fan 765S can be controlled through major Matter-compatible platforms using the standard protocol. Folks who like to tinker can also integrate it with Home Assistant for more advanced automation. If you prefer sticking with the DREO app, you will still have access to features that go beyond Matter, including 3D oscillation and the company’s MotionSync technology.

The connectivity is new, but the hardware remains the same. The TurboPoly Fan 765S continues to use DREO’s TurboWind airflow technology, HyperSilent engineering, and an efficient DC motor that promises strong airflow without turning your room into a wind tunnel of noise.

I like that DREO is treating Matter as more than a marketing buzzword. Instead of forcing customers into a closed ecosystem, it is embracing a standard that gives people more choice. That is a win whether you use one smart home platform today or expect to switch to another tomorrow.

No new hardware was announced alongside the update, so existing TurboPoly Fan 765S owners should be able to take advantage of Matter support through a software update. If you have been waiting for a smart fan that plays nicely with the rest of your connected home, this update makes the TurboPoly Fan 765S a much more compelling option.
