High Tech Pet brings fully automatic Power Pet Roll-Up Door to modern smart homes

High Tech Pet is here with a gadget for pet owners who want something a little fancier than a floppy plastic flap. The longtime pet tech company has announced its new Power Pet Roll-Up Door, a fully automatic, WiFi-enabled pet door built for people who want convenience without wrecking their home’s look. It is aimed at DIY-minded homeowners who do not mind drilling a hole in a wall if it means their dog can come and go without any drama.

The company has been in the pet-tech game for four decades, so it knows the usual complaints. Traditional flaps leak air, get chewed up, and are often too small for bigger dogs. This new model tries to fix all of that. Instead of a push flap, it uses a motorized insulated panel that rolls upward into a hidden compartment, then seals shut when not in use. High Tech Pet says it is airtight and weather-tight and quiet enough that it will not wake a sleeping cat. That is a bold promise for any motorized product.

Owners can choose who actually gets to use the door, too. The Roll-Up Door only activates when a pet wearing the included smart collar approaches, which should keep out raccoons, strays, and the occasional neighborhood squirrel looking for a free snack. The system also lets you create entry or exit only rules, fully lock it, or open it manually from a smartphone app. If something gets in the way while it is closing, it immediately reverses so pets are not put at risk.

Installation is a big selling point. High Tech Pet designed the Roll-Up Door so homeowners can mount it in a standard door, an interior or exterior wall, or even a sliding patio door. It fits everything from tiny kittens to giant 200 pound dogs, which should cover just about every household. Because the panel disappears into a compact housing, it also works under window sills and other tight spaces where traditional pet doors just do not fit.

Smart home fans get all the expected remote features. Through the Power Pet Door app, you can track pet activity, adjust activation distances, set timers, and share access with family members. You can control the door from anywhere, which is helpful if you want to let your dog out for a few minutes while you are away from home.

High Tech Pet says the Roll-Up Door is built and assembled in the United States and tested for energy efficiency and weather protection. Pricing starts at $579.99, which is on the high side, but smart pet doors tend to be pricey in general. You can buy it here now on Amazon.
