Wyze Window Cam brings enhanced color night vision and simple indoor mounting to home security

The smart home crowd knows Wyze loves to undercut the big players, but its latest gadget might hit a sweet spot for folks who want outdoor-style security without drilling holes or climbing ladders. The new Wyze Window Cam sits safely inside your home and looks out through the glass, yet still aims to deliver bright, colorful nighttime footage that actually looks usable.

Wyze says the trick is its Enhanced Color Night Vision. The camera uses an F1.0 aperture lens and a BSI sensor to grab any available light, so instead of that dull gray image you usually get from inexpensive indoor cams, you end up with something much closer to real-world color. It’s still a 1080p device, but for many households, that resolution is more than enough to identify people, cars, and delivery activity.

Mounting the camera seems designed for people who aren’t handy or simply don’t want to damage their siding. Instead of screws, Wyze uses nylon fastener strips that stick to the inside of your window. A 10ft MicroUSB power cable and included clips give the installation a cleaner look, which helps if you prefer your gadgets to blend in rather than scream security camera.

The company is pitching this as a fully usable device even if you avoid subscriptions. With a MicroSD card up to 512GB, the Window Cam can record continuously, and you can still check in remotely through the Wyze app. Two-Way Audio is included, along with AI-powered motion detection that can send alerts and outline whatever triggered the event in the video.

Bluetooth setup should make the initial pairing less frustrating, and once online, the cam sticks to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It will also play nicely with Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT, and Wyze’s own automation tools if you’re already deep in the brand’s ecosystem.

At $34.98 (available now at Amazon), the Wyze Window Cam lands firmly in impulse-buy territory. For renters, condo owners, or anyone who wants outside visibility without going outside, this little window-mounted device might be the simplest security upgrade you can add before the holidays hit.
