Rocket.net is making a bigger push into the WordPress agency market with a new partnership that bundles WP Umbrella into its managed hosting platform at no extra cost for agency customers.
If you are not familiar with WP Umbrella, it is a centralized management platform for WordPress sites. Agencies can use it to monitor uptime, manage updates, scan for vulnerabilities, generate client reports, and oversee multiple websites from a single dashboard instead of constantly jumping between WordPress admin panels.
The practical appeal here is automation. Rocket.net says agency customers will now get access to safe updates for WordPress core, plugins, and themes, complete with rollback support if something breaks after an update. For folks managing lots of client websites, that alone could end up being pretty useful.
The platform also includes automated vulnerability scans every six hours, which feels timely considering how often vulnerable WordPress plugins end up becoming attack vectors.
Monitoring is another big piece of the partnership. WP Umbrella tracks uptime and site performance while also generating white-label reports agencies can hand directly to clients. Those reports include updates, monitoring activity, backups, and custom work performed on a site.
Of course, there is also an AI angle because apparently every tech announcement in 2026 requires one. WP Umbrella now includes what the companies describe as an “Umbrella-skill” for Claude, allowing agencies to use natural language commands inside the platform. Whether that becomes truly useful or just another AI feature people ignore remains to be seen, but some agencies will probably appreciate anything that cuts down repetitive administrative tasks.
Another big part of the announcement is Rocket.net’s broader push to become more than just a hosting provider. Rocket.net CEO Ben Gabler said, “Since launching in 2020, partnering with industry-leading solutions for our customers has always been part of the plan to enable them with all of the tools they need, directly inside of Rocket.net.”
He added, “Partnering with WP Umbrella allows us to deliver the most complete agency experience in managed WordPress, leading to faster sites, safer updates, sharper insights, and now AI-native workflows.”
As someone who hosts NERDS.xyz on Rocket.net, I have noticed the company increasingly positioning itself as more than simply a managed WordPress host. Between performance tooling, CDN integration, security features, and now agency management software, Rocket.net appears to be building a broader ecosystem around WordPress professionals.
That strategy probably makes sense. Hosting alone has become highly competitive, so bundling useful tools and services together is one way to stand out in a crowded market.
For agencies already paying separately for monitoring platforms, reporting tools, and update management services, this partnership could also help reduce costs.
