Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts are officially moving into ChatGPT Pro. Once connected, the chatbot can pull details from your email, events, and contact list directly into a conversation. That means no more digging through tabs to copy and paste information.
The update is powered by GPT-5 and starts rolling out to Pro users globally this week. Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu customers will get it in the coming weeks.
Turning it on is simple. Go to Settings, select Connectors, and hit Connect on the application you want. From then on, ChatGPT will reference those accounts automatically when it thinks the information is relevant.
If you already use Gmail or Google Calendar in deep research mode, you can now use them in chat too. Just keep in mind that deep research still requires you to enable each connector and manually select it whenever you start a new session.
It is undeniably convenient, but not everyone will be rushing to turn it on. Giving ChatGPT direct access to your email and calendar could feel like a privacy trade-off, even if you trust the search giant and OpenAI with your data. Some will see it as a time saver, while others will wonder if the cost in personal information is worth it.
