iClever launches Q950 kids headphones with hearing protection and active noise cancellation

Parents shopping for kids headphones usually have one big concern: volume. iClever wants to go beyond that with its new Q950, a model designed to help children listen safely without giving up features typically reserved for adult headphones.

The company says the Q950 is the first pair of kids headphones to receive TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care Certification. Rather than relying only on a volume cap, the certification also looks at factors such as sound quality, adaptive listening, and overall hearing protection.

The headphones are limited to a maximum volume of 80dBA, but the bigger story may be the inclusion of Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. By reducing outside noise by up to 35dB, children can hear music, movies, or online lessons more clearly without feeling the need to crank the volume. That is a much smarter approach than simply making headphones louder to overcome a noisy environment.

The Q950 packs in a surprisingly long list of features. Active noise cancellation continues to work even in wired AUX mode, something that is still uncommon on childrens headphones. Wear detection automatically pauses audio when the headphones are removed, Transparency Mode lets outside sounds through when needed, Bluetooth Audio Sharing makes it easy to share audio with another compatible headset, and battery life is rated for as much as 60 hours.

iClever also focused on making the headphones comfortable enough for everyday use. The adjustable headband is designed to fit growing children, while rotating ear cups, soft protein leather ear cushions, reinforced metal hinges, and a durable POK headband are intended to survive the bumps and drops that come with school, travel, and family life. The company says the design has been tested through thousands of twists and drop tests.

Beyond the hardware itself, iClever says it has donated nearly 15,000 headphones to more than 2,400 schools across the United States as part of its effort to promote healthier listening habits among children.

The Q950 carries a list price of $69.99, but there is currently a clickable coupon on Amazon that brings the cost down to $54.99. At that discounted price, these headphones become a much easier recommendation for parents who want active noise cancellation, hearing-focused features, and solid battery life without spending premium-brand money.
