EMEET launches C960 Ultra 4K webcam with Sony sensor and fast autofocus

Webcams are no longer just for the occasional Zoom call. These days, folks are streaming, recording podcasts, jumping into remote meetings, and even producing full blown video content from their desks. With that reality in mind, EMEET has introduced the EMEET C960 Ultra, a new webcam that aims to push its long running C960 lineup further upmarket.

The company says the C960 series has already sold more than two million units worldwide, so it clearly has an established audience. With the C960 Ultra, EMEET appears to be focusing on improving image quality and overall design rather than reinventing the wheel.

The headline feature here is a large 1/1.5 inch Sony image sensor, something you do not typically see in many mainstream webcams. Larger sensors usually mean better light capture, which can translate to cleaner video and less noise in dim environments. For people who work in home offices with questionable lighting, that could make a noticeable difference.

The camera also supports 4K video, while offering 1080p recording at up to 60 frames per second. That higher frame rate can help motion look smoother, which is useful whether someone is presenting during a video call or streaming content live.

Another upgrade is phase detection autofocus, commonly called PDAF. EMEET claims the camera can lock focus in roughly 0.2 seconds, helping keep the subject sharp even if they move around a bit. Anyone who has watched their webcam drift in and out of focus during a meeting will understand why that matters.

The company is also leaning into AI powered image adjustments, which automatically tweak exposure and color based on lighting conditions. The goal is to keep faces looking natural without forcing users to mess around with manual settings. Of course, AI has become a marketing buzzword in tech lately, so it will be interesting to see how much of a difference it actually makes in real use.

Physically, the C960 Ultra looks more polished than many webcams in its price range. Instead of a typical plastic shell, it uses a premium aluminum alloy body. EMEET says this helps with durability and heat dissipation, while also giving the camera a more refined appearance on a desk.

The company also mentions a natural bokeh effect, which gently blurs the background behind the subject. The idea is to help users stand out on camera without creating the strange cutout look that sometimes happens with software based background blur.

The EMEET C960 Ultra is available from Amazon for $99.99, putting it in the middle of the webcam market. At that price, it will likely appeal to remote workers, streamers, and content creators who want better image quality without jumping into the much more expensive professional camera territory.
