TP-Link’s Omada brand is quietly becoming one of the most interesting names in business networking. Today, the company announced four major software updates aimed at making life easier for IT administrators, system integrators, and MSPs. The upgrades include Omada Network 6.0, Omada App 5.0, the all-new Omada Design Hub, and Wi-Fi Navi App V1.5, together forming a more complete ecosystem for planning, deploying, and managing software-defined networks.
Omada Network 6.0 introduces a cleaner interface with a multi-tab dashboard that shows topology, client activity, and live traffic all at once. The update also brings a new multi-level health scoring system that automatically rates the condition of devices, clients, WLANs, and sites, providing a practical way to spot problems before users notice. Features like Smart Topology now add real-time VLAN visibility and disconnected device tracking, while a wizard-based VLAN setup and bulk port management save hours of configuration work.

The biggest surprise is the Omada Design Hub, a new free, cloud-based network planning tool. Users can upload floor plans, automatically detect walls, and instantly generate Wi-Fi heatmaps with AI-powered AP placement. It even supports multi-floor cable routing and one-click proposal exports. This kind of capability used to be locked behind expensive vendor systems, so giving it away for free is a smart move that will catch the attention of many IT pros.
For on-the-go management, Omada App 5.0 delivers smoother control for admins, and the Wi-Fi Navi App V1.5 expands installer tools with iPerf2 testing, IP and port scanning, PoE and bandwidth calculators, and new Wi-Fi validation tests. Together, these updates make Omada’s platform feel more mature and professional without the usual licensing headaches or hardware lock-ins that come with other enterprise solutions.
It is clear that TP-Link wants Omada to be taken seriously in the same space as Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi. This release brings it much closer. The combination of intelligent design tools, simple dashboards, and transparent pricing makes Omada a serious contender for growing businesses that want better control without giving up flexibility.
