Smart locks are becoming more common on front doors, but they still feel a little intimidating to some folks. Dreame seems to understand that. The company has introduced two new smart locks aimed squarely at everyday households in the United States: the Dreame NAVO Smart Lock A10 and the Dreame Safio Lock Turbo Lite.
The idea here is pretty simple. Dreame wants to make connected door locks easier to use without pushing the price into luxury territory.
The Dreame NAVO Smart Lock A10 is the more advanced of the two models. It supports Matter, which means it can work with several smart home ecosystems using a single standard. In theory, that should make life easier for people who run mixed environments or plan to add more smart devices over time.
Access options are plentiful. Users can unlock the door using a fingerprint sensor, a PIN code, NFC, a mobile app, voice control, or a traditional key. There is also geofencing support, which can automatically unlock the door when you arrive home.
One interesting feature is a built-in gyroscope that locks the door automatically once it closes. Anyone who has ever wondered whether they remembered to lock the door will probably appreciate that.
The lock connects directly over Wi-Fi, so there is no hub required. Dreame says the A10 carries BHMA Grade 2 certification and can send real-time alerts when something unusual happens. The zinc alloy body carries an IP65 rating for weather resistance, and the battery is rechargeable.
The Dreame Safio Lock Turbo Lite takes a slightly different approach. It focuses more on everyday convenience rather than throwing every possible feature at the door.
The standout feature here is support for Apple Home and Apple Home Key. That means users can unlock the door simply by tapping an iPhone or Apple Watch, similar to how digital car keys work. For households deep in the Apple ecosystem, that could be the main attraction.
Like the A10, the Turbo Lite supports multiple ways to unlock the door, including fingerprint recognition, PIN codes, NFC cards, and a physical key. Dreame says the lock can run for up to 12 months on battery power and includes customizable auto-lock settings and real-time alerts.
Installation is designed to be quick as well. Dreame claims the lock can be installed in minutes, which should appeal to homeowners who would rather not spend an afternoon fighting with door hardware.
The Turbo Lite uses an aluminum body with an IP54 rating, which provides protection against dust and splashes.
Both locks are available now on Amazon. The Dreame NAVO Smart Lock A10 carries an MSRP of $179.99, though Amazon has it for $118.99 with code 8IYUCE2Y. The Dreame Safio Lock Turbo Lite lists for $129.99 but is currently discounted on Amazon to $64.99 with code 8BCQGK48.
Smart locks still spark debate. Some folks love the convenience while others prefer the simplicity of a traditional deadbolt. Dreame appears to be betting that lower prices and flexible access options will convince more households to give connected door locks a try.
