Silicon Power has introduced its fastest SSD yet, the XPOWER XS90. It is a PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2.0 model designed for people who expect insane speed from their storage.
The drive reaches up to 14,300MB/s for reads and 13,400MB/s for writes, putting it firmly in high end territory. With more systems supporting Gen5 drives, the XS90 feels like a straightforward option for creators, gamers, and anyone running heavier AI tools at home.
The hardware uses a 6nm controller paired with LPDDR4 DRAM to maintain performance during large file transfers and demanding workloads. The XS90 supports PCIe Gen 5×4 and reaches up to 14,300MB/s for reads and up to 13,400MB/s for writes on the 2TB and 4TB models. The 1TB version reaches up to 10,500MB/s for writes.
Silicon Power offers the drive in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities. It keeps to the standard M.2 2280 shape at 80mm by 22mm and only 2.3mm thick, weighing just 8g. Certifications include CE, FCC, BSMI, UKCA, RoHS, Green Dot, and WEEE. The drive is covered by a five year limited warranty tied to its rated endurance. Pricing and availability are not yet known.
