Plugable’s new 6-port USB-C charger cuts the clutter and ditches the wall brick

PS 6CC A

Plugable just launched something that feels long overdue. The PS-6CC is a six-port USB-C charger that doesn’t come with a wall plug. Instead, it works with the USB-C power adapter you already have. So, yeah, it can cut down on waste.

It supports power supplies ranging from 18W to 100W and turns them into a smart charging hub. You get six USB-C ports that can handle laptops, phones, tablets, and more, without taking up too much space on your desk.

A cool feature is PriorityShare. Devices plugged into the left side of the charger get first dibs on power. So if you plug in your MacBook and a phone at the same time, the laptop gets priority. Once that finishes charging, the power shifts to the next devices. It’s a smarter way to handle multiple devices without throttling performance across the board.

PS 6CC B

This isn’t Plugable’s first time trying something like this. The PS-10CC was a 10-port beast that gained some attention, but it was a bit much for people who just needed a simpler setup. The PS-6CC is the cleaner, more portable version that does everything the bigger one did, just with fewer ports and less desk space.

Each port has its own LED indicator so you know what’s charging and what’s done. It also includes over-voltage and overcurrent protection, and it will warn you if your power adapter isn’t up to the task.

PS 6CC C

If you’re using Plugable’s 140W GaN charger or one of their EPR cables, this thing will slide right into your setup. But you can also use any third-party USB-C PD power supply that meets the wattage requirements.

The Plugable PS-6CC is available now on Amazon for $79.95. There’s a 25 percent coupon at launch, however, so if you’ve been looking to clean up your charging situation without adding more junk to the drawer, this might be it.
