GIGABYTE MO32U24 pairs 4K and 240Hz for gamers who refuse to compromise

If you’ve been waiting for a gaming monitor that doesn’t force you to choose between razor-sharp 4K visuals and an ultra-fast refresh rate, GIGABYTE thinks it has the answer. The company has launched the MO32U24, a 31.5-inch QD-OLED display that combines a 3840 x 2160 resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate.

On paper, the specifications are certainly impressive. The panel offers a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time, a claimed 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 99 percent DCI-P3 color coverage, and support for both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible. That should make it appealing for both competitive gamers and anyone who wants rich colors for movies or creative work.

GIGABYTE is also highlighting what it calls Advanced ObsidianShield technology, which it says can improve perceived black levels by as much as 40 percent in bright rooms while increasing scratch resistance. As always, company performance claims should be taken with a bit of healthy skepticism until independent reviewers have had a chance to put the monitor through real-world testing.

The MO32U24 also includes several software features aimed at gamers. Tactical Switch 2.0 lets users quickly change screen size and aspect ratio, while AI Picture Mode automatically adjusts display settings based on what you’re doing. AI Black Equalizer is designed to brighten dark areas in games without washing out the entire image.

Like most OLED monitors, burn-in remains a concern for some buyers. GIGABYTE says the display uses a fanless cooling system with graphene thermal film and AI OLED Care to reduce long-term burn-in risk, but only extended use will reveal how effective those protections really are.

Connectivity is solid, with DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, a USB hub, and dual 5W speakers. The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, making it easy to dial in a comfortable setup.

The GIGABYTE MO32U24 is available now from Newegg for $999.99. While that’s certainly premium territory, it lines up with what you’d expect to pay for a 32-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor. Buyers looking for top-tier image quality and refresh rates will likely find it worth a closer look, though waiting for independent reviews is still the smart move before spending a thousand dollars.
