GEEKOM built its reputation on compact mini PCs, but the company has also been quietly expanding its laptop lineup. With the new GeekBook M16, however, GEEKOM appears to be taking a much more aggressive swing at the premium productivity market.
And you know what? On paper at least, this thing looks surprisingly competitive.
The GeekBook M16 laptop combines Intel Core Ultra 9 performance, a gigantic FAA-limit battery, and a premium aluminum chassis at a starting price of $899. GEEKOM clearly wants buyers to see this as a premium Windows productivity laptop without the premium pricing typically associated with brands like Dell, Lenovo, or HP.
The laptop is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 9 185H processor, featuring 16 cores, 22 threads, and boost speeds up to 5.1GHz. Graphics are handled by integrated Intel Arc graphics, while Intel AI Boost delivers up to 35 TOPS of AI performance across the CPU, GPU, and NPU.
You also get 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. Thankfully, storage is expandable, which is becoming increasingly rare these days. The primary M.2 2280 slot supports up to 4TB of storage, while a secondary M.2 2230 slot can add another 2TB.
The display is a 16-inch 1920×1200 panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate. Sure, some buyers may wish for a faster refresh rate in 2026, but productivity users will probably appreciate the taller display more than ultra-smooth scrolling.
Battery life is where GEEKOM really wants attention, though.
The GeekBook M16 packs a 99.9Wh battery, which is basically the largest battery legally allowed on commercial flights. GEEKOM claims the laptop can deliver up to 24 hours of battery life under certain workloads, although real-world testing will obviously matter more than marketing claims.
Still, the included 100W USB-C PD charger sounds legitimately useful. According to GEEKOM, just 10 minutes of charging can provide roughly three hours of productivity. That could make the laptop especially appealing for travelers, commuters, and remote workers constantly hunting for power outlets.
Despite the large battery, the machine itself remains fairly portable. The GeekBook M16 measures just 0.66 inches thick and weighs 3.8 pounds. The CNC-machined aluminum alloy body also gives the laptop a more premium look and feel than many competing systems in this price range.
Cooling is handled by GEEKOM’s updated IceBlade 3.0 thermal system featuring dual fans and dual heat pipes. The company says the redesign improves airflow by 28 percent while boosting air pressure by 50 percent and reducing overall noise.
Connectivity is another area where GEEKOM did not appear to cut corners. The GeekBook M16 includes USB4 with 40Gbps bandwidth, a second full-featured USB-C port, dual USB-A ports, HDMI 2.0, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4. The laptop can also power up to three external displays simultaneously.
Other features include a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, TPM 2.0 security, a physical webcam privacy shutter, DTS:X Ultra audio, and a white backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad. The hinge can also fold fully flat to 180 degrees.
GEEKOM is currently offering a preorder promotion too. Buyers can use coupon code GKM16 to knock $100 off the price, and preorder customers also receive a free $40 USB-C hub.
Of course, specs on paper only tell part of the story. The real challenge for GEEKOM is standing out in an extremely crowded laptop market filled with established competitors. But if the GeekBook M16 performs anywhere close to how it looks on paper, the company may end up getting far more attention from productivity users than it has in the past.
