GoveeLife has unveiled the Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro just ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Nugget ice has become one of those small luxuries people quickly get attached to, but home machines have a reputation for being loud, finicky, and surprisingly high maintenance. GoveeLife is positioning this new model as a direct answer to those frustrations, promising faster ice, less noise, and fewer headaches day to day.
At the core of the Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro is a beefed up internal design aimed at consistent output rather than novelty. A 96W high efficiency compressor works alongside a DC motor and an enlarged condenser and fan to get ice flowing quickly. GoveeLife says the machine can start producing nugget ice in as little as six minutes and reach up to 60 pounds of ice per day under ideal conditions. That puts it firmly in the category of serious home ice makers rather than a casual occasional use appliance.
Ice quality is clearly part of the pitch too. The machine uses a stainless steel evaporator designed to create denser, rounder chewable ice with a texture closer to what people expect from their favorite fast food or coffee chains. The ice bucket is thicker than usual and holds up to 3.5 pounds of ice, with insulation designed to keep most of it frozen for hours rather than turning into a slushy mess halfway through a party.
Capacity is another area where GoveeLife is trying to stand out. The dual tank setup combines a 2.2 liter internal tank with a larger 4.9 liter detachable tank. Together, they support continuous production of up to 15.6 pounds of ice in a single run, which the company says is enough for roughly 60 iced drinks. That framing makes it clear who this product is for… families, gatherings, and people who do not want to babysit an ice maker all afternoon.
Noise has long been the Achilles heel of nugget ice machines, and GoveeLife is leaning heavily on what it calls AI NoiseGuard to address that. Nugget ice makers have complex internal structures, and freeze ups inside the evaporator can lead to rattling, grinding, and other unpleasant sounds.
According to GoveeLife, AI NoiseGuard uses a trained model that can identify these freeze up events with more than 90 percent accuracy and automatically trigger defrosting before the noise becomes noticeable. Combined with the DC motor, the company claims the machine runs at around 40 decibels, roughly the level of a quiet library or low conversation. If that holds true in real kitchens, it would be a meaningful quality of life improvement.
Day to day usability is another focus. The Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro features a 4.45 inch LCD touch screen for on device control, paired with a skyline style LED bar that gives quick visual feedback about machine status. Cleaning is handled through dual self cleaning modes, offering both quick and deeper cycles depending on how much buildup has occurred. This is important for any appliance that deals with water and ice, especially for users who are not eager to break out vinegar and brushes every few weeks.
As expected from GoveeLife, app support is baked in. Through the Govee Home App, users can schedule ice making, receive low water alerts, and get reminders when it is time to run a cleaning cycle. Smart home integration is also included, with support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa, allowing basic voice control and automation alongside other connected devices in the house.
GoveeLife says the Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro will be backed by a three year warranty and will go on sale starting January 15, 2026. The MSRP is set at $499.99, placing it in the premium home ice maker category. Early buyers are being enticed with a limited time bonus that includes a complimentary GoveeLife air purifier valued at $129.99 and a five percent discount during the first week of availability. The machine will be sold through Amazon US, the GoveeLife website, Walmart, and Best Buy.
