Kensington is once again leaning into its long-running trackball legacy with the new Expert Mouse TB800 EQ. The company says this finger-operated trackball is built specifically for creative professionals who need precise cursor control and customizable workflow options.
It features an ergonomic, symmetrical design suitable for both left- and right-handed users. It has a smooth 55mm ball, and wireless connectivity options that can handle up to four devices at once.

Unlike traditional mice, trackballs allow users to move the cursor without lifting their hands, which can be appealing for editors, designers, and music producers who spend hours navigating complex interfaces. Kensington claims the TB800 EQ’s adjustable scroll ring, 1kHz polling rate, and 47 percent post-consumer recycled plastic make it both high-performance and eco-conscious. The rechargeable lithium battery lasts up to four months per charge, and it charges via USB-C for those who prefer wired reliability.

One particularly interesting inclusion is access to Avid Pro Tools Intro+, giving users an extended taste of professional audio editing software. Pair that with the optional Kensington Konnect software, where up to 16 programmable button sets can be configured, and this trackball becomes a serious creative control surface rather than just a pointing device.

Kensington says it has been refining the trackball for nearly 40 years, and this one feels like its most ambitious yet. The Expert Mouse TB800 EQ Trackball will be available in North America in Q4 2025 on Amazon and the Kensington Store. Pricing has not yet been announced.
