Foxit PDF Editor v2025.2 connects Gmail, Salesforce, and Jira with new AI MCP Host

Foxit

Foxit has rolled out a massive update to its flagship PDF software. The company today announced Foxit PDF Editor v2025.2, a release that introduces a new capability called MCP Host. This technology connects the PDF Editor directly with outside services like Gmail, Salesforce, and Jira, enabling users to perform multi-step, AI-powered tasks from within the editor itself.

The idea is simple but powerful. Instead of bouncing between apps, users can trigger actions right inside a PDF. For example, text extracted from a contract could automatically populate a Jira ticket, while key financial figures could update Salesforce records without any manual entry. Emails, too, can be drafted and sent directly from the Editor through Gmail integration. According to Foxit, MCP Host maintains context across steps, which makes switching between different tools far less disruptive.

Nake Sekander, Vice President of Product at Foxit, described the release as “a new industry benchmark for intelligent document workflows.” He explained that the MCP technology is designed to connect PDFs with other systems “securely and without friction,” ultimately helping teams move faster by staying plugged into their daily tools.

Foxit highlights several industries where these integrations could be especially valuable. Product managers can turn technical specifications into Jira tickets in a few clicks. Legal teams can automatically spot missing signatures in NDAs and send reminders without leaving the Editor. Sales staff can review agreements in PDF form and push updates straight into Salesforce. Supported integrations go beyond the big names, extending to tools like Canva, HubSpot, Box, and Autodesk Revit. Setup guides are available on Foxit’s website.

This update also brings two new audio-focused features under the AI Assistant banner. “Read Summary” creates a spoken recap of a document’s key points, letting busy professionals grasp essentials without reading the entire file. Meanwhile, “Smart Podcast” transforms technical or dense documents into a two-person conversation, giving the information a more natural, engaging flow.

Foxit PDF Editor v2025.2 is available now on both Windows and macOS. Those who already rely on the software can update today to access MCP Host and the new audio tools.
