Smartwatches may dominate the conversation these days, but plenty of people still prefer a traditional watch that tells time without needing a software update. If you’re one of those folks, G-SHOCK has a new collection worth a look.
Casio has unveiled the new G-SHOCK Camo and Gold Series, a lineup of four watches that combine camouflage styling with gold accents. It’s a combination that could have easily gone overboard, but the designs manage to strike a balance between rugged and flashy.
The collection includes the GM6900CMG-3, GAV01CMG-3A, DW6900CMG-3, and GA700CMG-3A. All four models feature dark resin construction, camouflage-inspired patterns, and gold-tone details that stand out without completely taking over the design.
What caught my attention is that Casio didn’t simply slap a camo pattern on existing watches and call it a day. The company refreshed the dials, tweaked some of the branding elements, and added negative LCD displays to select models. The result feels more intentional than many of the cosmetic refreshes watch makers release.
Of course, these are still G-SHOCK watches, so durability remains a major selling point. Depending on the model, buyers get features such as 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, LED lighting, alarms, world time functionality, stopwatches, countdown timers, and full auto calendars. The GAV01CMG-3A even promises up to 10 years of battery life.
The collection seems aimed at people who want something tougher and more distinctive than the average smartwatch. Whether camouflage and gold is your thing is another question entirely, but there’s no denying the watches stand out.
Pricing starts at $145 for the DW6900CMG-3. The GA700CMG-3A costs $165, while the GAV01CMG-3A comes in at $210. At the top of the range is the GM6900CMG-3, which sells for $280. The watches are available now through G-SHOCK and participating retailers.
