GoveeLife Smart Countertop Ice Maker 2 Pro has RGB lights and Alexa support

Countertop ice makers are suddenly everywhere, but GoveeLife is trying to make its latest model feel a bit more futuristic than the average kitchen appliance. The company has announced the Smart Countertop Ice Maker 2 Pro, a Wi-Fi-connected machine that promises rapid ice production, app controls, voice assistant support, and even RGB lighting.

Yes, really. Your ice maker now has gamer lights.

GoveeLife says the machine can start producing ice in as little as three minutes once it reaches a stable operating state. According to the company, that speed comes from a patented pre-cooling system paired with a 170W compressor that supposedly delivers 77 percent higher refrigeration efficiency than traditional models.

Marketing claims aside, the fast startup could actually matter for people making iced coffee at home every morning. Waiting forever for a countertop machine to finally spit out a few cubes gets old quickly.

The Smart Countertop Ice Maker 2 Pro can reportedly produce up to 47 pounds of ice per day. It also uses a dual-tank system with a combined 1.56-gallon capacity, allowing up to six hours of continuous ice production without needing constant refills. GoveeLife says the machine retains 97.8 percent of its ice during the first hour too, which should help reduce that annoying puddle of partially melted cubes sitting in the basket.

The company is also heavily promoting its patented Dynamic Timing Algorithm, which sounds like something pulled from a gaming laptop presentation. In practice, it means sensors monitor water temperature and room conditions before automatically adjusting ice-making cycles to maintain consistent cube size and shape.

There are three ice sizes available depending on the drink. Smaller cubes are designed for iced coffee and espresso beverages, medium for daily drinks, and larger cubes for cocktails.

Naturally, there is an app involved. Through the Govee Home app, users can remotely start ice production, schedule sessions, activate cleaning cycles, and monitor ice production charts. The machine also supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing users to start or stop ice making with voice commands.

One feature I actually appreciate is the self-cleaning mode. GoveeLife says the process takes about 10 minutes and can be scheduled through the app. Anything that means less scrubbing and disassembly is probably a win.

The company also says all components touching water or ice are food-grade materials, while the uncoated stainless steel evaporator supposedly offers far better corrosion resistance than traditional nickel-plated copper designs. In other words, the company is trying to convince buyers this thing will not start smelling weird after months of use.

And then there is the design. The Smart Countertop Ice Maker 2 Pro includes an RGBIC light strip and color LCD display that give it a surprisingly flashy appearance for an appliance whose primary purpose is freezing water. GoveeLife says the design earned a Red Dot Design Award, which explains why it looks more like a desktop gaming PC accessory than an ice machine.

The GoveeLife Smart Countertop Ice Maker 2 Pro is available now on Amazon for $349.99. However, a clickable coupon drops the price to $332.49 for a limited time.
