Folks, XGIMI is taking another crack at the high-end projector crowd, and it is not being subtle about it. The company just opened orders for its TITAN Noir Series, a trio of 4K projectors that aim to bring serious brightness, contrast, and gaming performance into the home. These were shown off at CES earlier this year, and now they are landing on Kickstarter with some pretty aggressive early pricing.
The big selling point here is what XGIMI calls a Dual Intelligent Iris System. That is a fancy way of saying the projector can better control how much light hits the screen, which should help with deeper blacks and stronger contrast. The company is throwing around a 10,000:1 native contrast figure, which sounds great, but as always with projectors, we will need to see how that translates outside of a demo room.
Brightness is another area where XGIMI is going all in. The top-end TITAN Noir Max is rated at up to 7,000 ISO lumens. That is a lot of light, and it could make a real difference for people who are not watching in a perfectly dark basement. In other words, this might actually work in a typical living room without everything looking washed out.

On the feature side, it checks just about every modern box. You get Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and IMAX Enhanced support, plus a triple-laser RGB light engine and wide color coverage. XGIMI is clearly aiming this at folks who care about image quality, not just throwing something on a wall and calling it a day.
Interestingly, the company is also leaning into gaming. The TITAN Noir Series supports up to 240Hz, which is not something you normally associate with projectors. Whether that is actually useful at huge screen sizes is up for debate, but if you want to play games on a wall-sized display, it is there. Under the hood, it runs on an MT9681 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is pretty standard for a smart projector in this class.
There are three models to choose from. The TITAN Noir Max sits at the top, followed by the Pro and the base TITAN Noir. All three are available now through Kickstarter, and the pricing is clearly designed to get early backers interested. Of course, crowdfunding always comes with some level of uncertainty, so that is something to keep in mind.

XGIMI is also pushing accessories like a 100-inch floor-rising screen, ceiling mounts, and stands. That makes sense, because buying a projector like this is really about building out a full setup, not just the device itself.
At the end of the day, this feels like one of those products that is going to excite home theater enthusiasts more than the average person. The specs are big, the promises are big, and the price, even discounted, is not exactly impulse-buy territory. Still, if you have been thinking about going all-in on a large-format 4K setup at home, this might be one to keep an eye on.
Kickstarter pricing starts at $2,499 for the base model, $2,699 for the Pro, and $2,999 for the Max, with shipping expected in June.
