Logitech has introduced its latest wireless keyboard, the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, which promises to end the annoyance of charging. You see, the device relies on the company’s Logi LightCharge technology to draw energy from any light source, whether natural or artificial. Once fully charged, it can continue working in total darkness for up to four months.
Cables may be fading from desks, but charging devices is a major annoyance. Logitech says the K980 is designed to remove that burden. “Even the need to think about charging can be a distraction, so we designed Signature Slim Solar+ to take that off your plate completely,” explained Art O’Gnimh, General Manager of Core Products Group at Logitech. “It stays powered by light, any light, clearing your desk of cables and eliminating the need to ever physically charge it, while bringing elegance and comfort to your workspace. That’s one less thing to worry about on a busy working day.”

Sustainability was also a focus during development. The graphite version of the keyboard uses 70 percent certified post-consumer recycled plastic. Logitech also includes a rechargeable battery that it says will last up to a decade. These decisions fit into the company’s Design for Sustainability strategy, which emphasizes reducing waste and building products that will hold up over time.
The K980 offers a laptop-style typing feel with scissor-switch keys, a full-size layout, and a number pad. Through the Logi Options+ app, users can assign Smart Actions to speed up routine work and remap the function row. The keyboard also has an AI Launch Key, which can be customized to open services like Copilot, Gemini, or ChatGPT. Easy-Switch keys allow the user to move between three devices without re-pairing, whether that is a PC, a Mac, a tablet, or a phone.
For IT buyers, Logitech created a business version of the keyboard. The Signature Slim Solar+ K980 for Business includes a Logi Bolt USB-C receiver, which is aimed at environments where secure and stable connections are essential. Logitech says IT departments can monitor the device through Logitech Sync, giving administrators visibility into firmware status and deployment health. Employees are able to customize up to 23 shortcut keys, including the AI Launch Key, without adding extra work for support staff.
The Signature Slim Solar+ K980 is available starting today. Logitech is selling the universal model for $99.99, a Mac version that is limited to North America for $99.99, and the business edition for $109.99.
