Elgato Facecam 4K delivers 60fps Ultra HD video with pro features

Elgato, part of CORSAIR, has launched Facecam 4K, a high-end webcam aimed at creators who want professional video quality without using a full camera rig. It records Ultra HD video at up to 60 frames per second, doubling the frame rate of many competing webcams.

It also introduces support for traditional photography filters, something not previously offered in this space. For creators who want detailed, accurate video without dealing with mirrorless or DSLR cameras, this product may be worth a look.

The hardware is built around a 1/1.8″ SONY STARVIS 2 sensor, which captures sharp and color-accurate images. A custom Prime Lens maintains focus up to 1.2 meters with a wide 90-degree field of view. An onboard processor handles video encoding and noise reduction. When connected via USB 3.0, the camera can stream 4K video at 30fps without compression, which helps keep latency low and detail intact.

Elgato includes its Camera Hub software, which provides DSLR-style manual controls. Users can adjust ISO, shutter speed, and other settings that typically aren’t available in webcams. There are also PTZ functions for digital panning and zooming, plus LUT support for built-in color grading. NVIDIA RTX users can enable background blur effects for added depth. HDR and advanced noise reduction are available as well, giving users a broad set of tools for tuning their video output.

A really cool feature of Facecam 4K is its support for 49-mm lens filters. This allows users to apply creative effects like diffusion, starburst, or glare reduction using common filters from photography and cinema. It’s a first for webcams and may appeal to streamers and content creators who already own compatible gear. Elgato is including a free CPL filter for early orders made through its own store.

Facecam 4K is available now for $199.99 at elgato.com. For a limited time, Elgato is also including the $4.99 privacy cover at no additional cost
