reMarkable just made its paper tablet a whole lot more useful. You can now send your handwritten notes and sketches directly into Slack with just a tap. No exporting. No copy and paste. Just write, share, and move on.
This new integration connects the creative side of thinking with the practical side of getting things done. Instead of your ideas sitting on the tablet alone, they can now be shared instantly with your team where conversations are already happening.
reMarkable has always been about quiet focus. It is designed to feel like paper and helps you block out the noise. Slack, on the other hand, is where modern teams live and breathe. Putting the two together solves a problem a lot of people do not even realize they have. Ideas often start in isolation but need to move into collaboration.

Nico Cormier, the chief technology officer at reMarkable, says this integration is all about reducing friction. In his full words, “The reMarkable paper tablet is where thinking begins, a free-form, creative space that helps you do your best work. But we realized that when there’s friction between thinking and producing, you risk losing time, ideas, and momentum. So connecting reMarkable and Slack became a no-brainer.”
The pen remains one of the best tools for creative thinking. It helps with memory, focus, and learning. But in most digital workplaces, handwriting still feels disconnected from everything else. That disconnect is what reMarkable is trying to solve.
The company says this is part of a bigger plan to create tools that support deep thought while still fitting into real workflows. Cormier puts it simply. “Our goal is to create technology that supports deep thinking and distraction-free work. But we also know that great tools and great ideas shouldn’t exist in isolation. This integration helps users spend less time managing technology and workflows and more time bringing ideas to life.”
Getting started is easy. You link your reMarkable account to Slack and start sending notes directly into channels or private messages. No weird formatting. No extra steps.
The integration is included with the reMarkable Connect subscription, which costs $2.99 each month or $29.90 a year. The tablet itself starts at $299.
This move shows that reMarkable is serious about staying focused on its core vision while still adapting to the way people work today. It is not trying to become a laptop or a full-blown productivity tool. It just wants to make thinking easier, and now it plays nicer with the tools you already use.
