Levoit has launched the Eleva 300X, a new smart air purifier aimed at bedrooms, home offices, and other smaller spaces. The company is putting much of its focus on a fully sealed HEPA system, independently replaceable filters, and a main filter tested to last up to two years.
The Eleva 300X is rated for rooms up to 250 square feet, where its 161 CFM clean air delivery rate provides 4.8 air changes per hour. That works out to the equivalent volume of air in a 250-square-foot room being filtered roughly once every 12.5 minutes.
More interesting is how Levoit is approaching HEPA filtration. The company describes the Eleva 300X as using “system-level HEPA filtration,” meaning the entire airflow path is sealed rather than simply putting HEPA-rated filter material inside the machine.
According to Levoit, all intake air is routed through the HEPA filter, which captures 99.97 percent of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. The sealed design is intended to prevent air from slipping through internal gaps and returning to the room without first passing through the filter.
That sounds like something that should be obvious for an air purifier, but Levoit is clearly trying to draw attention to the difference between testing filter media by itself and evaluating filtration as part of the complete appliance.
The Eleva 300X also separates its HEPA and activated carbon filters. Levoit calls this DuoShield technology, but the practical benefit is simple: owners don’t necessarily have to throw away both filters when only one needs replacing.
The main HEPA filter costs $39.99 to replace, while the included Essential activated carbon filter costs $19.99. Levoit also offers Pet, Smoke and Cooking, and Premium activated carbon filters for households that want more targeted odor and gas filtration.
The included carbon filter is rated for up to six months, while specialty versions can last up to 12 months. Since the carbon and HEPA filters can be replaced independently, someone dealing with frequent cooking odors, pets, or smoke could swap the carbon portion without unnecessarily replacing the HEPA filter.
The main HEPA filter, meanwhile, is tested to last up to two years. There is some important context behind that claim. Levoit says the figure comes from GB/T18801 testing based on the point at which CADR declines by 50 percent, assuming 12 hours of daily operation at maximum fan speed. Actual replacement intervals will naturally depend on usage and environmental conditions.
Air quality is monitored using Levoit’s AirSight Plus 2.0 three-channel laser sensor, which measures PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 particles in real time. An automatic mode can then adjust fan speed as particle levels change.
Owners can view current AQI readings and longer-term air-quality trends through the VeSync app. The software supports schedules and timers, tracks filter life based on usage, and provides separate replacement reminders for the HEPA and activated carbon filters.
Levoit is also promoting AI-powered air insights through VeSync. The company says the software can analyze activities and outdoor air conditions to provide personalized information about factors that may be affecting indoor air quality. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls are supported as well.
For bedroom use, the Eleva 300X can operate at 20 dB in Sleep Mode, according to independent lab testing cited by Levoit. Overall operating noise ranges as high as 50 dB. The display lights can also be completely disabled regardless of fan speed, so users don’t have to choose between running the purifier at full power and keeping a bedroom dark.
The purifier measures 9.4 x 9.4 x 15.1 inches and weighs 9.9 pounds. Maximum power consumption is listed at less than 25.5 watts, while Levoit says average energy consumption is 7.5 watts.
The Eleva 300X is Energy Star 3.0 certified and AHAM Verifide. Levoit also says the purifier has been recognized by the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation, or ECARF.
Levoit estimates five-year ownership costs at $384.92, including the initial purchase, although real-world costs will depend heavily on how frequently each filter needs to be replaced.
The Levoit Eleva 300X is available now from Amazon for $129.99 and comes with a two-year limited warranty.
For a relatively compact air purifier, the Eleva 300X has a lot going on. The app, automatic adjustments, and AI-generated insights are nice extras, but the independently replaceable filters may prove more useful over the long term. If the HEPA filter can actually approach its advertised two-year lifespan in typical homes, owners could spend less time and money replacing filters that still have useful life remaining.
