Logitech is taking a big swing with its new G512 X keyboard, and it’s clearly built for folks who like to dial in every little detail of their setup. This isn’t just another RGB board you plug in and forget about. It’s meant to be tweaked, adjusted, and personalized over time, almost like a project instead of a finished product.
The standout feature here is Dual Swap, which lets you mix analog and mechanical switches across the keyboard. You can set up keys like WASD with magnetic analog switches for more precise movement, while keeping traditional mechanical switches everywhere else. It gives you a level of control that feels closer to a controller, but in a keyboard form factor.
Logitech is also using TMR sensor technology, which allows for variable input instead of simple on and off keypresses. That opens the door for more nuanced control in games, especially ones where movement precision really matters. Pair that with support for up to an 8kHz report rate, and the response time drops to a very fast 0.125ms, which is about as quick as it gets right now.
One feature that really stands out is the ability to assign two actions to a single key based on how deeply you press it. A light tap can trigger one function, while a deeper press triggers another. It sounds like a small thing, but it could make a big difference in fast paced games where every split second matters.
From a hardware standpoint, the G512 X is packed. It includes 39 dual-swap analog switch positions and 81 swappable mechanical switch slots, with your choice of tactile or linear switches pre-installed. Logitech also includes nine magnetic analog switches in the box, so you can start experimenting right away without needing to buy extras.

The keyboard connects using a 1.8 meter USB-C to USB-A cable, which should fit nicely into most desk setups. You also get full LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting across the keys and a large lightbar, giving you plenty of room to customize the look as much as the performance.
There are programmable keys and knobs using Logitech’s KEYCONTROL system, along with dedicated buttons for game mode and analog scanning. If you want to unlock everything the keyboard can do, you’ll need Logitech G HUB software and an internet connection, which is pretty standard for this kind of gear. It works with both Windows 10 or newer and macOS 12 or newer.

Logitech is also paying some attention to sustainability. The packaging is FSC certified, and the keyboard uses a portion of post-consumer recycled plastic depending on the color option. It’s a small detail, but one that more companies are starting to include.
Design-wise, the G512 X looks clean and modern. It comes in black or white and is clearly meant to match Logitech’s newer lineup like the G502 X Plus mouse and G522 headset. If you’re building out a full setup, it all ties together nicely.
The keyboard is available now through Amazon here. Pricing starts at $179.99 for the 75 layout and goes up to $199.99 for the 98 layout. It also comes with a two-year limited hardware warranty and multiple configurations depending on switch type and color.
