OtterBox launches Figura Series, a new ultra-thin iPhone case line with MagSafe

OtterBox is known for making cases that can take a beating. That’s kind of its whole thing. So when it announces something ultra-thin, yeah, it makes you do a double take.

The new Figura Series is the company’s slimmest case yet, and it feels like OtterBox is trying to meet people where they are today. Not everyone wants a bulky brick in their pocket anymore. Some folks just want a little protection without turning their phone into a tank.

That said, OtterBox insists you are not giving up durability. The Figura Series is still tested to military drop standards, and it includes the usual raised edges to help protect the screen and camera. For the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, there is even extra coverage around that oversized camera bump, which is honestly getting harder to ignore with each new release.

The case itself is a one piece design, flexible, and easy to slip on and off. No drama. The soft touch finish is probably the bigger story here, though. It is meant to feel good in the hand and offer better grip, which makes sense if you are going thinner. A slick case on a thin profile would be a disaster.

MagSafe support is built in, so charging and accessories should work like you would expect. OtterBox also added anchor points for straps and charms, which feels very 2026. Whether that is useful or just a trend depends on your vibe, but the option is there.

There is also a small but important detail for newer iPhones. The Camera Control opening is designed so you are not fighting the case when trying to take photos. It sounds minor, but anyone who has used a poorly designed case knows how annoying that can be.

Compatibility is wide. We are talking iPhone 13 all the way up through the iPhone 17 lineup, including the newer e models. That tells me OtterBox is not treating this like a niche product. It wants this to be a go to option.

Still, I can’t help but wonder who this is really for. If you usually buy OtterBox, you probably care about protection above all else. Figura seems to shift that balance a bit toward comfort and style. That is not a bad thing, but it does feel like a different direction.

The price is $39.99, which is pretty reasonable for a name like OtterBox. Not cheap, but not outrageous either.

At the end of the day, Figura feels like OtterBox admitting that not everyone wants maximum bulk anymore. The question is whether longtime fans are ready to embrace something a little lighter.
