Apple has updated its free Apple Sports app for iPhone, and tennis fans are finally getting some love. The app now tracks live scores for Grand Slam and 1000-level tournaments. Every point, every match, every round.
The timing isn’t random. Wimbledon 2025 starts tomorrow, June 30, and runs through July 13. Thanks to this update, fans can follow the entire tournament from their iPhones or Apple Watches with real-time score updates. If you’re running iOS 18 or watchOS 11, you’ll even see updates right on your Lock Screen using Live Activities.
Ledger supports Linux, is open-source where it counts, and is battle-tested. If you’re holding crypto, you should own a hardware wallet.
The app now supports all men’s and women’s singles matches, from the first round through the finals. Apple promises blazing-fast score delivery so fans never miss a beat.
This update also includes a redesigned home screen experience. Matchups are now grouped by league, and fans can pick the order they want their favorite sports to appear. Your favorite teams show up at the top, so no more scrolling through stuff you don’t care about.
Apple also tweaked Game Card Sharing, making it easier to post slick matchup previews to friends or social media. It’s small, but polished. The app keeps its focus on speed and simplicity, which is kind of rare these days.
And if you’ve already set up your favorite teams in Apple News or the Apple TV app, Apple Sports pulls that in automatically. You can even tap through to watch games in the Apple TV app (assuming you have the right subscriptions, of course).
Apple Sports is still completely free and works on iPhones running iOS 17.2 or later. Some features, like Lock Screen updates, require iOS 18, which is only available right now through Apple’s developer and public betas. The app is available here in the U.S., UK, and Canada.
