FeedLizard is a private RSS reader for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to let you follow websites without advertising, tracking, analytics, or the collection of personal information.
Information FeedLizard Does Not Collect
FeedLizard does not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information.
FeedLizard does not include:
- Advertising
- Analytics
- Tracking technologies
- Third-party tracking SDKs
- User accounts
- Marketing profiles
- Location tracking
- Contact collection
- Device fingerprinting
The developer does not receive information about the feeds you follow, the articles you read, your searches, your starred articles, or your reading activity.
Information Stored on Your Device
FeedLizard stores app data locally on your device so the app can function. This may include:
- RSS and Atom feed subscriptions
- Feed folders
- Downloaded articles and article metadata
- Read and unread status
- Starred articles
- Search history within the app
- App preferences
- Feed icons and image caches
- OPML import and export information
This information remains on your device unless you choose to enable iCloud Sync.
Deleting FeedLizard from your device may remove locally stored app data, subject to the normal behavior of iOS and any backups maintained by Apple.
iCloud Sync
FeedLizard offers optional iCloud synchronization.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, FeedLizard may store the following information in your private iCloud account:
- Feed subscriptions
- Folder organization
- Custom feed names
- Information needed to synchronize those subscriptions and folders between devices
FeedLizard does not use iCloud to provide the developer with access to your reading data. The synced information is stored in your private Apple iCloud account and is handled through Apple’s CloudKit service.
Article content, read status, starred articles, preferences, and local caches may remain stored only on the individual device unless the app specifically states otherwise.
Your use of iCloud is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies.
Deleting FeedLizard Data from iCloud
FeedLizard includes an option under its iCloud Sync settings to delete its stored iCloud data.
Using this option permanently deletes FeedLizard’s synced subscriptions, folders, custom feed names, and related synchronization information from iCloud.
Local data on the device remains unless you separately delete or reset it.
Another device that still has iCloud Sync enabled may upload its locally stored subscriptions again. To prevent this, disable FeedLizard iCloud Sync on your other devices before deleting the cloud data.
After a successful deletion, iCloud Sync is turned off. FeedLizard will not upload the local subscriptions again unless you manually enable iCloud Sync.
RSS Feeds and External Websites
FeedLizard connects directly to RSS feeds, Atom feeds, websites, and image servers selected by you.
When FeedLizard requests content from an external website, that website may receive standard network information such as your IP address, device network information, request time, and browser or connection details.
Those websites operate independently from FeedLizard and may have their own privacy policies. FeedLizard and its developer do not control how third-party websites process requests or data.
Opening an article in an in-app browser or external browser may also allow the destination website to use cookies, analytics, advertising, or other technologies under its own policies.
OPML Import and Export
FeedLizard supports OPML files for importing and exporting feed subscriptions.
Imported OPML data is processed by the app and stored locally. It may also be synchronized through iCloud if you have enabled iCloud Sync.
Exported OPML files are created at your request. You are responsible for deciding where those files are saved, shared, or uploaded.
Notifications and App Badges
FeedLizard may request permission to display an app badge showing the number of unread articles.
This permission is optional. FeedLizard does not use notifications or badge permissions for tracking or advertising.
Purchases
FeedLizard may be purchased through Apple’s App Store.
Payment information and transaction processing are handled by Apple. FeedLizard and its developer do not receive your full payment-card information.
Apple may provide limited purchase information needed to confirm that the app was acquired legitimately.
Children’s Privacy
FeedLizard is not designed to collect personal information from children.
Because FeedLizard does not operate user accounts, advertising systems, analytics, or tracking services, it does not intentionally collect personal information from children or other users.
Data Security
FeedLizard uses Apple-provided technologies and standard platform protections to store and synchronize app data.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect access to their devices and Apple accounts with appropriate passwords, passcodes, and two-factor authentication.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated when FeedLizard’s features or data practices change.
Any revised version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
