Americanize Me Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

Americanize Me is developed by Brian Fagioli. The app helps you explore American-style given names. Your naming inputs and optional photo are processed on your device. The app does not send them to a developer server.

Names and preferences

The name you enter, the surname you choose to keep, and your name-style preference are used to suggest names. These inputs remain in the current app session. The app does not require an account or create a server-side profile.

When Apple’s on-device language model is available, the app may use it to refine upcoming suggestions. The model receives your entered name, surname, style preference, and candidate names as text. No photo is supplied to the model. The app also works with its built-in local matching engine when the model is unavailable.

Optional photos and camera access

You can choose a photo using the system photo picker or take one with the camera. Camera permission is requested only when you choose that feature. A photo is optional and personalizes your name card.

The app keeps your selected photo in the current session. It does not upload the photo or include it in saved favorites. You can remove it using the photo menu. The app does not perform facial recognition or use photos to infer your background, identity, or personality.

Saved names and retention

When you save a favorite, the app stores the suggested given name, surname, save date, and a randomly generated internal identifier in local app storage. It does not save your photo or original input name as part of that favorite. You can delete favorites from the Saved names screen.

Saved names may be included in standard device backups. If a saved-name file becomes damaged, the app may preserve a local recovery copy. Deleting a favorite removes it from the active list; older recovery copies or backups may still contain earlier records.

Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data. Previously created backups remain subject to your device and backup settings.

Sharing

Sharing happens only when you choose a recipient or app in the system share sheet. A shared name card contains the suggested name and, if you added one, your photo. Sharing a saved name sends its text.

The receiving service handles shared content under its own privacy practices. Copies you share are outside this app’s control.

Purchases, analytics, and tracking

Apple handles App Store purchases. Americanize Me does not request or store payment-card information. The app has no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

The app includes no advertising, tracking, or analytics SDK and does not send app-usage analytics to Brian Fagioli. Apple may process purchase information, device diagnostics, or other information under its own policies and your device settings.

Support and this website

For privacy questions or support, contact Brian Fagioli through NERDS.xyz. Information you choose to include in a support request is used to respond to that request.

This policy describes the Americanize Me app. The hosting website’s own privacy practices apply when you visit its pages or send a support request. The app does not automatically send your naming inputs or photos to that website.

Policy updates

If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new revision date.
