Sesame Street expands partnership with YouTube

Sesame YouTube

YouTube is about to become an even bigger destination for family viewing thanks to a newly expanded partnership with Sesame Street. Beginning in January 2026, the platform will host the largest digital library of Sesame Street content, with hundreds of full episodes joining its lineup. For families who already use YouTube on their TV screens, this feels like a natural fit since more than half of the show’s YouTube watch time already comes from connected televisions.

The numbers are impressive. Over the past year, Sesame Street’s official YouTube channels pulled in more than 5 billion views, a 130 percent increase compared to the year before. Alongside classic episodes, the beloved Muppets will continue to appear in fresh content made specifically for YouTube’s audience.

This partnership also goes beyond making episodes available. Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind the show, will share its decades of experience in research-backed children’s programming. It plans to lead a series of workshops with YouTube creators to help them build content that is both fun and educational. That balance has been Sesame Street’s hallmark for over fifty years.

As a frugal father of a toddler, I am thrilled to have more free content accessible on YouTube. We love Sesame Street in my house and even visited Sesame Place over the summer. Being able to enjoy more of the show together without paying for another subscription feels like a real win for families.
