Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 29, 2026
Veridenz is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Veridenz does not require you to create an account.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other personal information to use the app.
Photos
When you witness a photo, the original image remains under your control.
Veridenz creates a cryptographic witness for the original photo, allowing the file to be verified later. The app does not upload your photos to our servers.
If you choose to export or share a photo or witness, that action is initiated by you.
Cryptographic Identity
Veridenz generates a cryptographic identity that is securely stored in Apple Keychain.
If you use iCloud Keychain, Apple may securely synchronize your identity across your Apple devices. Veridenz does not have access to your iCloud Keychain data.
Nostr Network
When you publish a witness, Veridenz sends a cryptographically signed witness record to one or more public Nostr relays.
These witness records are publicly accessible so that anyone can independently verify them.
Witness records do not contain the original photo unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Because Nostr is a decentralized public network, published witness records may remain available even if individual relays remove them.
Purchases
If you purchase Veridenz Full Access, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.
Veridenz does not receive or store your payment information.
Analytics and Tracking
Veridenz does not display advertising.
Veridenz does not track you across apps or websites.
Veridenz does not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage data.
Third-Party Services
Veridenz relies on Apple services for features such as Keychain and App Store purchases. It also communicates with public Nostr relays when publishing or verifying witness records.
These third-party services operate under their own privacy policies.
Data Security
Veridenz is designed with a privacy-first approach.
Cryptographic identities are stored using Apple Keychain, and sensitive operations are performed on your device whenever possible.
While no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, Veridenz is designed to minimize the amount of personal information it handles.
Children’s Privacy
Veridenz is not directed to children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
