Amazfit is delivering a new product to the smartwatch world again, this time with a geometric twist. The Zepp Health-owned brand has launched the Amazfit Active 2 Square, a sleek new take on its latest fitness watch.
This model retains all the same features as the recently released round version but wrapping them in a modern square design that makes a design statement. To be honest, it isn’t exactly a perfect square, but I suppose it’s close enough!
First shown off at CES 2025 and featured at both Pepcom and ShowStoppers, the new Active 2 Square is made for those who want a sharper look without compromising on performance or health-tracking capabilities. It sports a gorgeous 1.75-inch AMOLED display topped with sapphire glass, set inside a polished stainless steel frame. With up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, this screen is easy to see in almost any lighting situation.
Despite the new shape, everything under the hood remains high-end. The Active 2 Square uses the company’s latest BioTracker 6.0 PPG biosensor, which packs dual-LEDs and five photodiodes to deliver more accurate heart rate, stress, and oxygen readings. Sleep tracking also gets a boost thanks to the improved RestoreIQ algorithm.
There’s a barometer now for better altitude tracking, and winter sports fans will appreciate new ski modes. Between the accelerometer, gyroscope, and ambient light sensor, the watch adapts well to different environments and uses.
Battery life remains strong with up to 10 days on a single charge under typical usage. On the software side, Zepp Flow lets users talk to their watch to tweak settings or control features, while Android users can respond to messages with a built-in keyboard or voice-to-text.
For athletes, the Active 2 Square supports over 160 sports modes, including HYROX Race Mode and smart strength training that can automatically count reps and rest time. Runners and hikers can take advantage of offline maps with turn-by-turn navigation and Zepp Coach for personalized training plans.
A new mini app from Wild.AI brings female-focused wellness tools right to the wrist, offering insights tailored to menstrual and hormonal cycles. The watch also tracks HRV and gives users a Readiness Score to help them understand how well they’ve recovered each day.
In short, this is not just a pretty face. It’s a fully loaded smartwatch that now comes in a different form factor to match different tastes. The Amazfit Active 2 Square is available starting today on Amazon here for $149.99.
